Mount Marty
  • The Lancers are coached by Allan Bertram who coached for several seasons at the high school level in South Dakota. Bertram won 254 games in 17 seasons at Andes Central, Todd County and Chamberlain and Rapid City Central.  In total he has guided five boys teams and two girls teams to the South Dakota State Tournament.
Dordt
  • Dordt is off to an 12-0 start this season.  The start is the best 12 game start in program history.
  • Karly Gustafson: 1,183 career points (10th all-time) and trails Jacque Van Leeuwen's (1982-86) 1246.
  • Bailey Beckman: 1,133career points (11th all-time), 148 made 3pt fg is 6th all-time behind Danelle Boone's (2010-14) with 155. Carla Geylense is 11th all-time in scoring  1,173.
  • Bill Harmsen is 100-41 coaching Dordt and is in his fifth season…70.2 winning % is best in program history. 100 wins is 3rd all-time at Dordt.
RECENTLY
Mount Marty lost to Jamestown 81-50 on Saturday. The telling quarter was the second where Jamestown went from leading 20-17 to 40-24. A 26-16 fourth quarter edge really stretch it out for the Jimmies. Macy Kempf scored 10 and Eve Millar had nine as the Lancers made 34.5 percent of their field goals and were outrebounded 38-28 while giving up 14 offensive rebounds.

On Friday, December 30 Mount Marty beat Presentation 64-49 with Kaela Martinez and Sidney Thue coming off the bench to score 14 points each while the Lancers converted 38 percent of its field goals. Mount Marty also had a 39-35 rebounding edge and held the Saints to 31 percent field goal shooting.

The Dordt Defenders beat Dakota Wesleyan on Saturday, December 10, 75-65 behind 23 points from Bailey Beckman and Janie Schoonhoven and Macy Sievers had 12 points each with Sievers getting eight rebounds and eight assists and Schoonhoven had seven rebounds. The Defenders limited Wesleyan to 43.3 percent field goal shooting and had a 37-27 rebounding advantage.

THE SERIES
Dordt is 10-0 in the series since 2017 and Dordt swept the two meetings last season 76-52 on February 9 in Sioux Center and 72-48 on January 1 in Yankton.   In the February meeting Dordt was led by Hayden Heimensen with 14 points and seven rebounds. Ashtyn Veerbeek had 11 and Karly Gustafson and Janie Schoonhoven had 10 points each. Alexsis Kemp had 11 to lead the Lancers while Macy Kempf and Eve Millar had 10 each.
