(Monday, December 5; Sioux Center, Iowa) Tate Hansen, a senior at Legacy High School (Colorado), has announced his intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender football program.

"We have been blessed getting to know Tate throughout the years. He will be a great addition to our program and the Dordt community. We are excited to watch Tate grow during his time on campus," said Dordt soccer coach Ryan Gresse

Hansen is a defender who earned 2021 all-conference honorable mention honors along with academic all-state honors in 2020 and 2021. He was an Academic Excellence Award winner in 2019, 2020 and 2021 and was a part of a 2021 5A state semifinal team and a 2022 State Cup Championship team. Hansen's team was also a 2022 Far West Regional quarterfinalist and competed for the Real Edge Soccer Club.

"I chose to attend Dordt University because of the mission of the school, the community, and the soccer team. Everyone is invested in the Defender Way, which includes pursing Christ and excellence in all areas of my life. On my visits, I felt welcome and knew this was where I was supposed to be," said Hansen.
