Defenders To Play College of Saint Mary This Weekend

Saturday's contest is set to start at 1pm

Game Time... The Dordt University women's soccer team will make a short road trip to Omaha, Neb. for a weekend match against College of Saint Mary in conference play. Game time for Saturday, Sept.17 is set for 1pm. 

Dordt had its three-match, win streak snapped last time out, falling to Briar Cliff in the GPAC opener for both teams. The Defenders are 0-1 in the GPAC, 3-3 overall. College of Saint Mary is one of five unbeaten teams in the league (1-0) and is 4-1-1 overall.

All-Time...Saturday's match will be the 20th all-time in the rivalry between Dordt and College of Saint Mary, dating back to the 1999 season. Dordt is 5-13-1 against the Flames, going 2-8-1 in matches played in Omaha, Neb. The Defenders have faired better in the rivalry of late, sporting a 3-1-1 record in their last five matches against CSM. Dordt lost to the Flames last season, 3-1.

Last Time Out...Dordt lost to Briar Cliff 5-1 in the GPAC opener for both teams played Wednesday night in Sioux Center. Karinna Tel put Dordt in front early in the first half while Jenna Wright made nine saves. 

College of Saint Mary scored both its goals over the first 10 minutes in its 2-1 road win against Northwestern in the GPAC opener played Wednesday night in Orange City.
