Game Time...The Dordt University men's soccer team returns to the field Wednesday night for a mid-week match against Nebraska Wesleyan. Game time is set for 6pm at the Defenders Soccer Complex.
All-Time...Wednesday's match will be the 31st all-time in the rivalry between Dordt and Nebraska Wesleyan, dating back to the initial contest played during the 1978 season. The Defenders own a 15-11-4 edge in the series and are unnbeaten over their last four matches against NWU (2-0-2). Dordt is unbeaten in its last six matches at home against the Prairie Wolves (4-0-2).
Last Year...Dordt and Nebraska Wesleyan played to a 1-1, double overtime tie in an early season match played last season in Lincoln, Neb. The Defenders scored first, getting a goal by
Ethan Knott off an assist from
Quintin Olson, during the 15th minute. Nebraska Wesleyan countered with a goal 20 minutes later when Jakob Hulquest found the back of the net.
Brandon Hansen recorded five saves while Knott,
Phil Appelt and
Santiago Carvajal all had one shot on-goal.
