Defender Hockey opened the semester with a 4-1 loss to the University of Missouri on Friday night at Vernon Arena. Dordt moves to 15-4 on the season.

'How it Happened:
After a solid first possession for Dordt, Missouri jumped out to an early 2 goal lead in the first period. While Dordt had a couple of chances to respond, they weren't able to get anything going.
The second period started similarly sand the Tigers extended their lead to 3-0. Much of the game, including the second period was filled with quite a few penalties on both teams. There were 11 Tiger penalties and 5 on the Defenders.
Dordt was able to get on the scoreboard in the third period courtesy of Mason Carrels. After the goal the Defenders gained some momentum and had some chances to close the gap, but couldn't quite find the back of the net. Missouri would go on to score two more goals, one on an empty net while the Defenders were trying to get a boost on offense.

Stat Summary:
Mason Carrels scored 1 goal. It was assisted by Zach Espenson and Alex Espenson.
Dordt tallied 41 shots on goal compared to 42 shots on goal for Missouri.
Graeme Edmund made 37 saves at Goalie for Dordt.
