Box Score The Dordt Defender men's basketball team fought through a slow start and won an 82-75 verdict over the Briar Cliff Chargers on Saturday night at the De Witt Gym in Sioux Center, Iowa.
The Chargers started with a 21-11 lead after a Matthew Stilwill basket at the 12:34 mark and the Chargers also used three made three-point shots by Nick Hoyt in the start. The lead was as many as 12 and was still 11 with 10:40 left in the half as Briar Cliff led 27-16.

Jacob Vis three-point shot and dunk got the Defenders started and
Bryce Coppock converted a three-point shot with 5:02 left in the half to get within 33-28. Dordt got as close two late in the half and ended up settling for that two point difference after a
Bryce Coppock layup on a baseline drive with less than a minute left in the half.
Vis hit a three to start the second half but Briar Cliff quickly grabbed back the lead on a Conner Groves three. Dordt took the lead for good on a Coppock three-point play and
Cade Bleeker followed with a three-point play of his own for a 6-0 run. Briar Cliff did battle back for a pair of ties but never took the lead.
Lucas Lorenzen's field goal at the 8:24 mark put Dordt up 65-63 and another 6-0 run by Dordt eventually extended the difference to 73-66.
Briar Cliff got no closer than five the rest of the game and Dordt won 82-75.

- Jacob Vis had 22 points and was a perfect 4-4 from the arc and had seven rebounds and three assists.
- Lucas Lorenzen added 15 points and 14 rebound with three assists.
- Cade Bleeker had 12 points and four rebounds and Jackson Louscher scored nine in a reserve role.
- Luke Rankin had nine assists and a pair of steals.
- Dordt was 33-56 from the field and 8-18 from the arc while converting 8-15 free throws.
- Dordt had a 37-24 rebounding advantage.
- Briar Cliff was 30-61 from the field and 8-22 from the arc to go along with 7-11 free throw shooting.
- Dordt is 15-4 overall and 7-4 in the GPAC while Briar Cliff is 9-9 overall and 3-8 in the league.
