(Wednesday, January 18; Sioux Center, Iowa) Connor Millikan, a senior at Platteview High School (Nebraska), has announced his intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender basketball program.
"Connor is going to end up as one of the top scorers in Nebraska High School history. Obviously, he is a big scorer, but more than that he is a winner, as his team is very good every year. We look forward to his development as a person and leader in this program," said Dordt basketball coach Brian Van Haaften.
Millikan is a 6-1 guard and is averaging 25 points per game with 6.6 rebounds. 3.5 assists and 2.0 steals. He was named the 2021-22 Trailblazer Conference first-team captain and earned first-team Class B All-State honors from the Grand Island Independent, Omaha World-Herald and Lincoln Journal Star. He was named to the second team in all class honors from the same three newspapers and he was named the Huskerland Preps Player of the Year in Class B. A sophomore in 2020-21 he was a first-team all-conference choice while also claiming Class B first-team all-state honors from the Lincoln Journal Star and the Omaha World-Herald while also being named the Omaha Metro Basketball Coaches Association Class B-C-D Player of the Year.
"I chose Dordt because everyone, and especially the basketball team, felt like family. It's a close-knit campus and community where I can see myself growing in all aspects of my life over the next four years," said Millikan.
Connor is the son of Matt and Stacy Millikan of Springfield, Nebraska. He plans to study construction management.
