Webb To Run For Defenders

(Wednesday, January 18; Sioux Center, Iowa) Isabella Webb, a senior at Waukee High School (Iowa), has announced her intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender cross country and track programs.  

"I am excited to welcome Isabella to our distance program.  She is a hard-working, talented runner and a fantastic student.  Her faith is important to her, and she loves to support her teammates.  She is a perfect fit for Dordt University and will be a very strong addition to our program with the ability to contribute in a multitude of ways. I am looking forward to working with Isabella for the next four years!" said Dordt head cross country coach and assistant track coach Craig Heynen.

Webb has personal bests of 19:30 on a 5,000-meter cross-country course; 5:19 in the 1,500 and 11:28 in the 3,000.  She earned varsity letters all four years at Waukee and qualified for the Iowa High School State Cross Country Championship.  

"Dordt has a peaceful atmosphere and I really feel I can grow in my faith there. Also, I can participate in cross country and track.  This is so exciting and I can't wait to be part of the community and teams at Dordt University," said Webb. 

Isabella is the daughter of Andrew and Krista Webb of West Des Moines, Iowa. She plans to study chemistry at Dordt.   

Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and the Mid-American Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA).?   

U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
