(Wednesday, January 18; Sioux Center, Iowa) Nathan VanDeBerg, a senior at Brandon Valley High School (South Dakota), has announced his intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender basketball program.

"Nate is a leader, is a versatile player as he can play most spots on the floor.  We are looking forward to him being a part of the Defender Basketball program," said Dordt basketball coach Brian Van Haaften

VanDeBerg averaged 8.0 points per game and 4.1 rebounds per game as a junior and is a 6-3 forward.

"I chose Dordt because not only do they succeed on the court but the brotherhood and bond these players have with each other is something I greatly admire. The Christian environment and engineering program are also things that helped make my decision easier," said VanDeBerg.

Nathan is the son of Paul and Tammy VanDeBerg of Brandon, South Dakota. He plans to study engineering at Dordt.
