Box Score The Dordt Defender men's team used a strong defensive effort to secure a 71-61 road win over Hastings College on Saturday afternoon in GPAC play.
Dordt built a 14-6 lead with a 
Lucas Lorenzen three-point basket with 16:02 left in the game. Hastings scored the next nine points in a row with 
Jacob Vis ending the drought with a bucket at the 10:05 mark. Dordt took the lead for good on a 
Trey Hinote three-point shot for a 21-19 advantage and the Defenders were up 34-23 at halftime.
The Defenders led much of the second half by double figures but Hastings surged within 56-49 a the 6:40 mark.  After a scoreless two minutes 
Luke Rankin drove and converted a lay up and a 
Cade Bleeker helped extend the lead to 61-51 after the teams traded baskets. Dordt converted six straight free throws to end the game and keep Hastings at bay for the 71-61 margin.
THE NUMBERS
	- Dordt was led by Lucas Lorenzen's 23 points for a new career high and he took in nine rebounds.
- Jacob Vis scored 22 on 10-16 shooting and had seven rebounds with three blocked shots.
- Cade Bleeker scored nine with three assists and Bryce Coppock scored eight.
- Luke Rankin handed out five assists and had four rebounds and a steal.
- Dordt was 28-51 from the field for 55 percent and converted 8-19 three-point shots.
- Hastings had a 37-34 rebounding edge and forced 11 turnovers.
- Dordt is 17-5 overall and 9-5 in the league while Hastings is now 6-8 in the league and 13-9 overall.
