(Wednesday, January 25; Sioux Center, Iowa) Abigail Foster, a senior at Woodstock North High School (Illinois), has announced her intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender women's soccer program.
"We are very excited to have Abby join the program this spring. Seeing her interact with our team during her visit was a joy, and I know she will fit in with our ladies extremely well," said Dordt soccer coach Alex Durbin.
Foster is a four-year varsity starter and earned KRVC all-conference honors as a junior and claimed Northwest Herald All-Area accolades. She is on the Chicagoland Soccer All-State Watch list for 2023 and scored 21 goals with nine assists as a junior and had 12 goals and nine assists as a sophomore. Foster also plays for the Illinois Premier Club team is listed as a 5-7 striker/winger.
"I chose to attend Dordt because it has everything I am looking for in a college. I love how Dordt encourages me to grow in my faith and grow close to God. The people at Dordt are amazing and like-minded people and people I see myself around. When I visited campus the women's soccer team made me feel like I was a part of the team already," said Foster.
Abigail is the daughter of Bryan and JoLynn Foster of Woodstock, Illinois. She plans to study data science and accounting.
Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and the Mid-American Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA).?
U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
