Karinna Tel was named the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) / Hauff Mid-America Sports Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week by the league office earlier today. The weekly award is voted upon by the Sports Information Director of each institution within the conference.
Tel accounted for eight points in leading the Defenders to a 2-0 record with road victories over Dakota Wesleyan and Nebraska Wesleyan on back-to-back evenings. Tel scored Dordt's first two goals and assisted on her team's third and fourth goals in the Defenders 5-2 win against DWU Wednesday night. The next night, Tel followed by scoring Dordt's final goal in their 3-1 win in Lincoln, Neb.
Tel leads Dordt with 20 points, ranking among the GPAC's top 10 in goals scored (8) and assists (4). This is the second time that the sophomore has earned the weekly honor for her career.
