Track and Field Commit | Anna Heynen

(Tuesday, November 21; Sioux Center, Iowa) Anna Heynen, a senior at Unity Christian High School (Iowa) has announced her intention to attend Dordt University and join the track and field program.  

Heynen is a sprinter with personal bests of 12.58 in the 100 meters and 25.86 in the 200 meters. SHe placed fourth in both races at the 2023 state track meet and was part of a third-place finishing 4x200 meter relay team.   

"I chose to attend Dordt because they have a good education department," said Heynen. I have a good relationship with many people on the track team and am very excited for a faith based education and coaching."  

Anna is the daughter of Craig and Karen Heynen of Sioux Center, Iowa. She plans to study education at Dordt.  

Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and the Mid-American Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA).    

U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
