(Wednesday, November 29; Sioux Center, Iowa) Vivian Dyk, a senior at Southwest Minnesota Christian High School (Minnesota), has announced her intention to attend Dordt University and join the cheer team.
"I am so very excited to have Vivian be a part of our cheer program at Dordt next year! She is a very sweet girl who is very involved in her school activities and has a great passion for cheer. She comes from a strong cheer program, and I am excited to see what she will all bring to our team next year!" said Dordt cheer coach Mel Knobloch.
Dyk is a three-time recipient of all-America honors and is base in cheer stunts.
"I chose Dordt because I wanted a higher level of Christian education," said Dyk.
Vivian is the daughter of Greg and Karen Dyk of Edgerton, Minnesota.
Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and the Mid-American Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA).
U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
