"Raya made history as the very first athlete in our program's history to receive this honor, and seeing her back it up with a second selection this year as well is truly a testament to her relentless dedication and skill! She continues to set the standard for what it means to be a leader and a competitor on the Dordt Cheer team. We are so proud of her, and we are fortunate to have her representing our program on the All-American team again this year!Â
Zevenbergen has been named to the GPAC 1
st Team in all-conference three times and she's three-time Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete," said Dordt coach
Mel Knobloch.
Cheer All-Americans are determined by national championship judges, and each team is mad up by score of 18 student-athletes, unless multiple athletes are tied for the 18
th spot on a team. Student-athletes are recorded doing four elements: toe tuck, triple jump combination, jump combination, round off back handspring full twisting layout, and stunts. They are graded on a scale of 1-5 ranging from poor technique to superior form and technique.
