Women's Basketball Commit | Mara Grant

(Monday, December 4; Sioux Center, Iowa) Mara Grant, a senior at Tea Area High School (South Dakota), has announced her intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender women's basketball program.

"Dordt offers a great nursing and basketball program. Dordt had a very welcoming environment and Christian values and will help me grow in my relationship with God," said Grant.

Grant averaged 18 points and 10.1 rebounds per game in 2022-23 and has 614 career points and 398 rebounds. Grant earned second-team all-state honors last season and earned first-team all-conference accolades. Grant is a 5-10 post player.

Mara is the daughter of Nick and Heidi Grant of Tea, South Dakota. She plans to study nursing at Dordt.

"Mara is a tremendous addition to our class of '24.  She had a breakout season in her junior year as a Tea Titan and looks to have an even better senior campaign.  She brings a wealth of talent and intellect to this recruiting class.  Mara embodies the Defender Way, and we look forward to walking with her during her time at Dordt!" said Dordt basketball coach Bill Harmsen
