RECENTLY

The Defenders pulled away from a 25-25 tie with eight minutes remaining in the first half and led Mount Marty Wednesday night at halftime 48-33. The Defenders never let the Lancers get close in the second half and went on to win 100-68 with Jacob Vis leading a balanced effort with 21 points and seven rebounds and Bryce Coppock had 17 points in the second half on the way to a 19 point effort. Five players scored in double figures for the Defenders and Luke Rankin had 10 assists and six rebounds.

The Tigers trailed Concordia 37-32 at halftime and lost 85-79. The defeat came after Doane had taken a 75-70 lead with 3:56 left in the game but allowed a 15-4 run to close the game and gave up the lead at the 78-77 mark. Brady Timm had 27 points and four rebounds while Alex Oberhauser tossed in 14 with seven rebounds and five assists.   

THE SERIES

The Doane Tigers lead the series 6-5 since the 2017-18 season. The Defenders led Doane 48-44 at halftime but the Tigers roared in the second half and outscored Dordt 16-2 to start the period and the Defenders never put together a serious threat in falling 97-74. Bryce Coppock scored 17 and Jacov Vis had 15 points and six rebounds. Doane was 40-66 from the field and was led by Brady Timm's 27 points and Alec Oberhauser had 17 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists.
