The Dordt Defender men's volleyball team improved to 4-1 this season and 2-0 at the Jamestown Classic hosted in Jamestown, North Dakota with a 3-0 win over Kansas Wesleyan by set scores 25-22 25-19, 25-22.
A five point run early in set one put Dordt up 10-5 but the Coyotes cut into the lead and got as close as 11-9 before a ball handling error and
Caleb Kulesza kill extended the lead to 13-9. Kansas Wesleyan got as close as 13-12 when
Andres Guzman ignited a seven-point Dordt run for a 20-12 lead. The Coyotes didn't fold though and came all the way back to 22-21 before Kulesza and
Brady Frost teamed up for back to back kills and
Luke Nelson ended it after a Wesleyan kill for a 25-22 win.
Dordt trailed in set two but managed to take the lead at 15-14 and went on to forge a 19-15 lead. Wesleyan never got closer than two as Dordt ended it with a Frost kill and a Nelson and Kulesza block for the 25-19 final. The Defenders never trailed in set three but the Coyotes did tie it 20-20 before a service error, Kulesza kill and Nleson and Kulesza error proved to be too much to overcome as Frost ended it with a kill for a 25-22 final.

"We finished the day with a strong serve and pass performance. This was a good day for us to grow in our system and trust building on the court with each other. Our serve and pass and defense continues to be a strong aspect of our play right now while we keep working on the offensive connections."

Dordt will play Saint Ambrose on Saturday at 10:00 and Viterbo at 4:00 to conclude the weekend.
