WHEN

Dordt will play Doane on Saturday, February 11 2:000 at the De Witt Gym in Sioux Center. Seniors in the program will be recognized at halftime of the men's game.

RECENTLY

The Defender women survived a scare on Wednesday night when they turned away Mount Marty in GPAC play 64-59.  Dordt trailed by as many as nine in the first half and eight late in the third quarter before outscoring Mount Marty 27-16 in the fourth quarter for the five point win. Bailey Beckman scored 22 and Karly Gustafson had 12 points and four rebounds with three assists. Hayden Heimensen scored 10 with five rebounds and Janie Schoonhoven had nine rebounds.

Doane led Concordia 46-36 at halftime on Wednesday in Crete but were outscored 33-17 in the third quarter and lost 92-80. Mak Hatcliff had 18 points and 10 rebounds and Rylie Rice scored 16 while Macy Holtz and Libby Trausch each had 12 points. Concordia ended up converting nearly 50 percent of its field goals to get the win.

THE SERIES

The Defenders lead the series 10-1 since 2017-18 with the Doane win coming earlier this year on January 11 in Crete, Nebraska by a 71-66 score. Dordt led 34-32 at halftime and pushed out to a 10 point lead with 6:00 remaining in the game. Doane went on an 11-0 run to grab the lead at the 4:03 mark and the Tigers took the lead for good at the 1:18 mark while scoring the final  six points of the game. Karly Gustafson led Dordt with 10 points and nine rebounds with three assists. Janie Schoonhoven added 13 with seven rebounds while Macey Nielson scored eight. Mak Hatcliff turned in a 21 point, six rebound effort for the Tigers and Macy Holtz added 16 while Rylie Rice came of the bench to score 16 for the Tigers.

Dordt will travel to Orange City to face Northwestern on Wednesday night, February 15 before going to Jamestown to conclude the regular season on Saturday, February 18.
