RECENTLY
Dordt went 4-0 in matches played at the Jamestown Classic on Friday and Saturday, February 10 and 11.
Caleb Kulesza and Rob Piekarz were named Attacker and Defender of the week by the GPAC for their play. Dordt capped the weekend with a 25-23, 25-22, 25-14 win over Viterbo.
Brady Frost accounted for 13 kills and
Caleb Kulesza had 10.
Lukas Van Groningen capped a good weekend with 35 kills and
Robert Piekarz had 12 digs.
Morningside lost a pair of matches on February 10 at Park against the Pirates and Georgetown by 3-0 scores. In the match with Georgetown the Tigers won 25-14, 25-23, 25-17 and Morningside was led by Kahaiai Kahoiwai with 10 kills and Natan Alves had nine. Owen Anderson had 10 digs and Dylan Hamil had six kills.
THE SERIES
Dordt leads the series and is on a current five match winning streak. Dordt defeated the Mustangs 25-22, 25-20, 25-21 on March 2, 2022 and this is the first meeting of the two this season.
Caleb Kulesza had 15 kills and
Lukas Van Groningen put up 27 assists as the Defenders took advantage of six service aces and 12 points from blocks. Morningside had 10 kills from Isaiah Baynes and Jacob DePauw put up 27 assists. Morningside did not have a service ace in the match.
