RECENTLY
Dordt finished its weekend last week with 3-1 record in games played at Winfield, Kansas. The Defenders controlled games with Central Christian, beating the Tigers by a combined 27-2 margin and split with Southwestern.  The loss was a dramatic 9-8 loss on a homerun in the home half of the seventh inning and the win came by a 7-3 margin.

Benedictine was a 10-8 winner over Saint Mary on February 22 in a nine inning game. The Ravens scored two in the top of the ninth inning to unlock a tie. Danny Favazza was 3-5 at the plate with pair of runs scored and two runs batted in and Chase Robertson was 2-3 with two runs batted in. Nelson Klein and Zach Wilcox each pitched three innings and Klein allowed six runs while Wilcox pitched shutout baseball with four strikeouts.

THE SERIES

Dordt trails the series with Benedictine 6-0 since 2020 with Benedictine sweeping a doubleheader with the Defenders on February 28 by scores of 7-2 and 5-4. Gyeongju Kim started the game for Dordt and went four innings with six strikeouts and he allowed seven hits.

Dordt will play in Florida on its spring break trip beginning Tuesday, March 7.
