(Wednesday, January 25; Sioux Center, Iowa) Derek Reinking, a senior at Kingsley Pierson High School (Iowa), has announced his intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender football program.
Reinking played defensive end in high school and was a second-team all-district pick three times. He totaled 54.5 tackles, 43 of them solo, and he had three tackles for loss. Reinking is listed 6-3, 225 pounds.
"I chose Dordt because it gave me the opportunity to play the sport I love and to pursue a degree in a field I am interested in," said Reinking.
Derek is the son of Jody and Perry Reinking of Kingsley, Iowa. He plans to study engineering at Dordt.
Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and the Mid-American Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA).?
U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
