(Wednesday, February 1; Sioux Center, Iowa) Thomas Walder, a senior at West De Pere High School (Wisconsin), has announced his intention to attend Dordt and join the football program.
Walder is a 6-0, 170 pound cornerback who earned all-conference first team honors in 2022 and second team honors in 2021. He had three interceptions with a state runner-up finish as a senior.
"I chose to attend Dordt because it felt like the best fit for me. Dordt excited me because the football program was really welcoming and the school offers a great exercise science program. I was extremely impressed with the coaching staff when I came on my invite. The made Dordt University seem like an opportunity I could not pass up," said Walder.
Thomas is the son of Luke and Meghann Walder of De Pere, Wisconsin. He plans to study exercise science at Dordt.
Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and the Mid-American Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA).?
