
The Dordt Defender men used a 23 point outburst over the final eight minutes of the first half against Mount Marty and never looked back while posting a 100-68 win in GPAC play.
The game was tied 25-25 with 8:29 left in the first half when
Jacob Vis converted one of his four three-point shots to unlock the tie. A Vis basket at the 6:34 mark then started a 12-0 run that
Lucas Lorenzen capped with a three-point shot for a 41-29 lead at the 3:07 mark. Dordt closed the half on a 7-3 run for a 48-33 advantage.
The lead was never smaller than 16 after Dordt scored first in the second half and two three-point shots by
Jacob Vis and another by
Cade Bleeker effectively put the game out of reach at the 12:24 mark with Dordt leading 71-46. The lead grew to as many as 34 before Dordt won 100-68.
THE NUMBERS
- Jacob Vis scored 21 points and had seven rebounds with two steals.
- Bryce Coppock scored 19 points with two assists and had 17 points in the second half.
- Lucas Lorenzen scored 18 and was 4-5 from the arc.
- Cade Bleeker and Jacson Louscher had 12 and 11 points each and Luke Rankin had six points, six rebounds and10 assists.
- Dordt converted 39-61 shots for 64 percent with 13-25 three-point shots and 9-11 free throws.
- Dordt had a 34-22 rebounding edge and the Lancers were 26-56 from the field and 3-15 from the three-point line.
- Dordt is now 20-5 overall and 12-5 in the conference. Mount Marty stands 9-17 and 5-13.
