Both of these teams went to Kansas and swept Kansas Wesleyan and Central Christian by 3-0 scores. Oguz had 21 kills and Cox eight in the Jamestown win over Kansas Wesleyan and Correa had 34 assists. Against Central Christian the Jimmies had eight kills by Adam Lopata and Correa accounted for 21 assists.

Dordt handled Kansas Wesleyan on Friday with Caleb Kulesza getting 10 kills and Luke Nelson had eight. Lukas Van Groningen accounted for 29 assists and Robert Piekarz and Andres Guzman each had 11 digs. The following day against Central Christian the Defenders had eight kills by Brady Frost and Andres Guzman had seven. Van Groningen accounted for 25 assists and Piekarz got to eight digs. Guzman had five aces in the win.

THE SERIES

Dordt and Jamestown played in North Dakota on February 3 and the Defenders lost a 16-25, 25-23, 22-25, 30-28, 13-15 decision. Caleb Kulesza had 17 kills and Brady Frost and Andres Guzman had 14 and 13 kills respectively. Lukas Van Groningen put up 45 assists and Robert Piekarz had 21 digs. Huynh put down 24 kills and Oguz added 20 and Correa lofted 57 assists.  The Defenders allowed eight ace serves and recorded five.
 

NEXT

Dordt will go to California for four matches beginning on March 6 against Simpson, Menlo, UC Merced and Pacific Union.  The Defenders return to play on March 16 against Morningside and Ottawa on March 18.
