(Wednesday, March 15; Sioux Center, Iowa) Elizabeth Vink, a senior at Pella Christian High School (Iowa), has announced her intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender cheer program.
"I am so excited to welcome Elizabeth to Dordt and to our cheer program! I can tell that she will be a great fit for Dordt and for this team. She has a bubbly outgoing personality and is a hard worker, and I can't wait to see what she will all accomplish during her time here at Dordt!" said Dordt cheer coach Mel Knobloch.
Vink has experience as a back-spot in cheer.
"I chose to attend Dordt because I loved the Christ-centered atmosphere present everywhere. I also chose Dordt because I could continue doing what I love while getting a quality education that prepares me for a successful future," said Vink.
Elizabeth is the daughter of Chad and Jana Vink of Pella, Iowa. She plans to study biology and enter the pre-med program.
Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and the Mid-American Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA).?
U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
