DeVries To Join Defender Soccer

(Friday, March 2; Sioux Center, Iowa) Tim DeVries, a senior at Badger High School (Wisconsin), has announced his intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender soccer program.

"Tim is a great addition to this class. He resonates with the Dordt community. We look forward to watching Tim grow through out his time at Dordt," said Dordt men's soccer coach Ryan Gresse.

DeVries is a 6-0, defender and midfielder and earned all-state honorable mention honors during his career along with two, first-team all-conference honors from the Southern Lakes Conference and he was runner-up for conference player of the year honors.  He's been a four-year starter and served as team captain.

"Over several visits to campus Dordt really felt like home. I got to know some professors in both the history and psychology departments who took an interest in me and were helpful in my decision-making process. Coach Gresse had really great communication with me and made me feel welcome at Dordt University. I really like the spiritual focus that coach Gresse has created within the program and Iook forward to being a part of that community," said DeVries.

Tim is the son of Neal and Cyndie DeVries of Lake Genva, Wisconsin. He plans to study history, psychology and French at Dordt.
