Giesen Signs On With Defender Football

(Wednesday, March 1; Sioux Center, Iowa) Nick Giesen, a senior at New Prague High School (Minnesota), has announced his intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender football program.  

Giesen earned all-conference honors during his career and is a 6-14, 215 pound tight end and defensive end.  

"I decided to come to Dordt because when I first toured the campus I liked it and felt very welcomed. I also have the opportunity to study my desired major and play football at the same time," said Giesen.  

Nick is the son of Don and Lisa Giesen of New Prague, Minnesota. He plans to study engineering at Dordt.  

Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and the Mid-American Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA).?    

U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
