(Monday, March 20, 2023; Sioux Center, Iowa) Brooke Marjama, a senior at Calvary Christian Academy (Florida), has announced her intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender soccer program.
"We are super excited for Brooke to be at Dordt this upcoming fall. Brooke will fit in extremely well with our program and continue to raise the level of play for Dordt Women's Soccer. I am looking forward to coaching her this fall," said Dordt soccer coach Alex Durbin.
Marjama has scored 26 goals during her high school career while playing midfield and defense and hasa school record 39 assists. She's been team captain for three seasons and claimed the Eagle Award three years in a row exemplifying Christian Leadership.
"When I first stepped on campus, I knew there was something special about Dordt. The connection between students and their professors was clear and very unique to the other relationships I had seen at other colleges. The girls on the team were welcoming and fun to be around and I new it was an environment I really wanted to thrive in. Coach Durbin is a fantastic coach and I can't wat to be a part of the program this fall.
Brooke is the daughter of Mick and Kristen Marjama of Fort Lauderdale. Florida. She plans to study nursing at Dordt.
Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition.
