RECENTLY

The Jimmies lost to Ottawa 25-22 in set one and came back to win the next three sets in convincing fashion 25-10, 25-14, 25-18. The Jimmies had a 60-37 kills advantage and hit for a .432 kill efficiency. Derek Correa had three service aces to go with 50 assists and the Jimmie scored nine points on blocks.

Dordt handled Morningside 25-17, 25-17, 25-19 on Wednesday night behind a team .414 kill efficiency with four points on blocks. The Defenders were led by Caleb Kulesza's 14 kills and Andres Guzman and Brady Frost had 11 and 10 kills each. Lukas Van Groningen put up 37 assists and Robert Piekarz had 10 digs with Kulesza leading the team with four service aces.

THE SERIES

Jamestown leads the series 8-1 since 2020 and Dordt won the most recent meeting on March 2, 2023, 3-1. Dordt won sets one and two 25-22, 25-22 before the Jimmies rallied to win set three 25-21. Set four saw Dordt prevail 25-22. Caleb Kulesza had 21 kills, five block assists and nine digs with Andres Guzman recording nine kills and Luke Nelson and Dylan Kooiman each had seven kills.  Lukas Van Groningen had 41 assists and 10 digs. Oguzhan Oguz had 18 kills and Caylor Cox had 15 kills with nine digs. Derek Correa put up 47 assists for the Jimmies.

Jamestown won the first meeting of these two on February 3, 2023 by set scores of 25-16, 23-25, 25-22, 28-30, 15-13. Kulesza again led Dordt with 17 kills and Frost put down 14 and Andres Guzman had 13. Van Groningen lofted 45 assists and Piekarz and Guzman each had two ace serves.  Huynh  and Oguz had 24 and 20 kills each and Correa put up 57 assists.

NEXT

The winner of this match earns a spot in the NAIA Men's Volleyball National Championship held April 11-15 at the MidAmerican Energy Company RecPlex in Des Moines, Iowa.  Pool play  will be held on April 11, 12 and 13 with semifinal action on Friday, April 14 and the title match on Saturday, April 15.
