Wilbur Added To Dordt Golf

(Thursday, March 2; Sioux Center, Iowa) Samantha Wilbur, a senior at South O'Brien High School (Iowa), has announced her intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender golf team.  

"We are excited that Samantha has chosen to continue her education and golf career at Dordt University. Samantha is a very competitive and committed student athlete and we know she will thrive in our Team and University culture. We look forward to having her join us in the fall," said Dordt coach Jon Crane.  

Wilbur finished fifth at last year's War Eagle Conference meet and had a nine-hole average of 48.3 and an 18-hole average of 99. Wilbur had a sixth place finish at districts in 2022 and has a career best score of 92.  

"I loved the campus and how everyone was so nice. I also love how it is a Christian campus and how I will be able to grow my faith over the next four years," said Wilbur.  

Samantha is the daughter of Jason and Kris Wilbur and Randy and Michelle Sohn. She plans to enter the pre-physical therapy program at Dordt.  

Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and the Mid-American Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA).?    

U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
