RECENTLY

Dordt swept a doubleheader in dramatic fashion against Cornerstone on Tuesday, March 7 with extra inning wins in both. In game one the Defenders got a Jason Carrig double in the top of the eighth that scored Logan Harris and Dylan Stanley knocked in an insurance run for the 6-4 final as Mike Bruell got the save and Nick Yeager struck out seven in the start. In game two the Defenders trailed 12-9 going into the bottom of the seventh but got a Logan De Vries homerun and a Logan Harris double to score two runs to tie the game.  After a scoreless top of the eighth Dylan Stanley led off the bottom of the eighth with a homerun to secure the win. Gyeongju Kim struck out eight with five hits allowed in six innings. Chaz Gothard got the win for recording the final two outs of the eighth.

Ave Maria secured a 6-3 win over Mount Vernon Nazarene on March 4. Tynan Shahidi had three hits with two runs batted in and Daniel Caylor was 2-3 with two runs batted in for the Gyrenes. Ryan Schroeder allowed four hits for his second win and struck out five.
