Will Syens Signing

Syens To Join Defender Basketball

(Wednesday, April 5; Sioux Center, Iowa) Will Syens, a senior at Central Wisconsin Christian, has announced his intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender basketball program.  

"We are excited to have Will join us. He is a great fit for Dordt and he has been a successful high school player. We look forward to his development as a player and a man of God," said Dordt men's basketball coach Brian Van Haaften

Syens is a 6-0 guard who averaged 17 points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals per game and was named conference player of the year once. Syens was also named first-team all-conference twice and second-team once.   

"I loved the atmosphere at the school and I really feel it is where God is calling me to go," said Syens. 

Will is the son of Matt and Annie Syens of Waupun, Wisconsin. He plans to study engineering

Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and the Mid-American Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA).?    

U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
