The Dordt Defender baseball team will play a doubleheader on Saturday, April 22 at 1:00 against Doane in Crete, Nebraska. The games were scheduled to be played in Sioux Center but were moved to Crete in hopes of finding warmer temperatures.

RECENTLY

Dordt lost a pair of one-run games on Tuesday, April 18 by scores of 5-4 and 3-4 to Jamestown. In the first game of the doubleheader Dordt got two hits each by Logan Harris and Jason Carrig and Harris had a pair of homeruns. Chaz Gothard went the full six innings and struck out six with one walk. Dordt lost the second game of the doubleheader with Jamestown scoring two in the sixth to tie it after Juan Sanchez's homerun gave Dordt a 3-1 lead in the top of the inning. A run in the bottom of the seventh ended it for Jamestown. Mike Bruell went five and a third innings and was charged with two runs and six hits with two strikeouts.

Since April 2 the Tigers have won nine out of 10 games with the lone blemish a wild 20-13 loss on April 16. Most recently the Tigers secured a sweep with Concordia 6-4 and 9-2 on April 17. Kaden Crawford was the winning pitcher in the 9-2 victory as he struck out four and allowed four hits in four and a third innings. Doane had three homeruns in the win and four in the doubleheader.

THE SERIES

Doane leads the series 7-1 since 2018 and Doane won both games last season in Crete on April 1.
