The Dordt Defender baseball team will play a doubleheader on Monday, April 24 at 4:00 against Mount Marty in Sioux Center, Iowa. The games were scheduled to be played in Sioux Center on Friday, April 21 but were moved due to wet, windy and cold weather that day.

RECENTLY

Dordt lost a pair of games to the conference frontrunner Doane on Saturday by scores of 11-1 and 7-1.  Doane scored three in the fifth of the first game to turn a 2-0 lead into a 5-0 lead on the way to a 7-1 win.  Gyeongju Kim pitched five innings and struck out six with two walks and he was charged with two earned runs in the 7-1 loss.

Doane lost a pair to Jamestown on April 23 by scores of 8-5 and 5-4. Miller took the loss in the first game after pitching three and a third innings and he struck out five. Chris Rofe pitched in the second game and gave up five runs on 11 hits with eight strikeouts in six and two-third innings. Ethan Wishon and Billy Hancock combined for five of Mount Marty's eight hits in the game two loss.

THE SERIES

Dordt split the four games with Mount Marty last season on April 9 and 11. One of the wins was a wild 16-15 win where Mount Marty scored six in the top of the seventh but Dordt came back to win it with seven in the home half, culminating with a three-run homerun. Mount Marty prevailed 2-1 and 6-4 in the two games it won.

NEXT

The Defenders are scheduled to host Northwestern on Friday and Saturday, April 28 and 29 to conclude the regular season.
