(Tuesday, April 11; Sioux Center, Iowa) Kierra Binford, a senior at Southwest Minnesota Christian, has announced her intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender track and field team.
Binford has personal bests of 29.24 in the 200 meters and 64.8 in the 400 meters. She was a part of a 4x200 team in 2020 that had the ninth fastest time in Minnesota. Binford has also competed in the 4x400 and has earned academic all-state honors during her career.
"I chose to attend Dordt for many reasons, but one of the biggest reasons would be the sense of community. I love how it is Christ-centered in every aspect and it felt like home," said Binford.
Kierra is the daughter of Shari and Eric Binford of Luverne, Minnesota. She plans to study business at Dordt.
Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and the Mid-American Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA).?
U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
