(Tuesday, May 9; Sioux Center, Iowa) Bryce Richards, a senior at Lynnville Sully High School (Iowa), has announced his intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender baseball program.
Richards is listed as a middle infielder and outfielder. He had a .333 batting average in 2022 with 26 base hits including seven doubles, two triples and two homeruns. He knocked in 35 runs and had 13 stolen bases. He was named SICL first team and second team all-district while serving as team captain.
"Dordt has both my major and the sport I am interested in and it's a place I can see myself not only growing as an athlete but also as a person," said Richards.
Bryce is the son of Dave and Angie Richards of Newton, Iowa. He plans to study environmental studies at Dordt.
Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and the Mid-American Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA).?
