Baseball Adds West

(Wednesday, March 29; Sioux Center, Iowa) Phoenix West, a senior at Rocky Mountain High School (Colorado), has announced his intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender baseball program.  

West batted .373 during his junior fall season and earned all-conference honorable mention honors and first team academic all-state honors. 

"I love the facilities and the message Dordt delivers. Also, I'm able to play baseball while studying graphic design," said West.  

Phoenix is the son of Matt and Mandy West of Fort Collins, Colorado. He plans to study graphic design at Dordt.  

Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and the Mid-American Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA).?    

U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
