D'Arcy To Join Defender Basketball

(Friday, May 12; Sioux Center, Iowa) Noah D'Arcy, a student at Concordia College (Australia), has announced his intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender basketball program.

"We are very excited to have Noah be a part of Dordt Basketball and Dordt University.  He has excellent ball skills and has nice length.  He is versatile and will be able to play different positions for us.  He is a great fit, as he is a Christian young man, wanting to be a part of a Christian University.  I appreciate his willingness to go to school on the other side of the world and take a chance on Dordt University," said Dordt coach Brian Van Haaften

D'Arcy is a 6-8 forward who averaged 7.7 points, 8.2 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game at the U20 Australian National Championships in 2023 and also served as Concordia's captain.

"I chose Dordt because it was a chance to join a winning basketball program with great facilities, coaches, and players. The fun atmosphere created by the large crowd of Defender fans was also a big factor in my decision. Dordt also has a fantastic reputation as a top academic Christian institution It felt like the perfect fit for me," said D'Arcy.

Noah is the son of Ben and Mary D'Arcy of Adelaide, Australia. He plans to study education at Dordt.

Dordt University is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and the Mid-American Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA).?
