(Thursday, May 18; Sioux Center, Iowa) Lance Vermeer has announced his intention to attend Dordt University and join the Defender volleyball program.
"Lance is a versatile athlete who has trained as a middle hitter but also can play six rotations as a pin. He is young in the sport and has many great years of volleyball ahead as he adapts to the college level. We are grateful for coaches Trevor Brewster and Ryan Moore helping him develop in his volleyball skills. Lance will be a wonderful addition to our campus community and men's volleyball program as he strives to live out The Defender Way," said Dordt volleyball coach Chad Hanson.
Vermeer is a 6-5 middle blocker and outside hitter. He has played volleyball for MAVS Volleyball.
"I chose Dordt University because of the outgoing Christian atmosphere. I also really enjoy the people I have met and look forward to the next four years," said Vermeer.
Lance is the son of Luke and Melissa Vermeer of Plattsburg, Missouri. He plans to study business administration.
