Kuipers Added To Defenders

(Monday, May 22; Sioux Center, Iowa) Jarett Kuipers, a senior at Southwest Minnesota Christian, has announced his intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender basketball program.  

Kuipers averaged 18.8 points per game this season with 8.6 rebounds and he served as team captain while also earning all-conference  and academic all-state honors. Kuipers is  listed as a 6-7 post player.  

"I chose Dordt because of the Christian education and community it has. I loved the atmosphere and the nursing program. My parents both attended Dordt—it feels like home," said Kuipers.  

Jarett is the son of Marv and Kendra Kuipers of Edgerton, Minnesota.  He plans to study nursing at Dordt.   

Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and the Mid-American Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA).?    

U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
