(Monday, May 22; Sioux Center, Iowa) Tyce Van Beek, a senior at Unity Christian High School (Iowa), has announced his intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender basketball program.
Van Beek averaged 13 points per game with 6.2 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game. He was a first-team all-conference selection and earned IBCA All-Substate honors. Van Beek is a 6-3 guard.
"I chose Dordt for its quality of education and Christian values. On my visits I was impressed with Dordt's staff and programs and it was apparent to me everything was Christ-focused," said Van Beek.
Tyce is the son of Brian and Amy Van Beek of Sioux Center, Iowa. He's undecided on a field of study.
Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and the Mid-American Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA).?
U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
