Lorenze To Play Hockey For Defenders

(Thursday, July 13; Sioux Center, Iowa) Nathan Lorenze, a graduate of Santa Clarita Christian School (California), has announced his intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender hockey program.

"We are fortunate to add Nate to our hockey program. He will be a big contributor both on and off the ice. Nate comes to us all the way from California, and he was drawn to our campus because of the commitment to serving Christ that our institution holds firm. We are extremely grateful to play at this university, and Nate is going to be someone who fits in perfectly for us," said Dordt hockey coach Tyler Morgan.

Lorenze scored 12 goals with 12 assists in 60 games for the Ontario Junior Reign.

"I chose to attend Dordt University because the school allows me to play hockey and earn a degree with like-minded Christians," said Lorenze.

Nathan is the son of Steve and Laura Lorenze of Santa Clarita, California. He plans to study business administration.
