(Thursday, July 13; Sioux Center, Iowa) Nathaniel Eliason, a graduate of Rocky Mountain High School (Colorado), has announced his intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender baseball program.
Eliason batted .357 this season with 34 runs scored, 22 runs batted in and 14 stolen bases. He also batted .467 as a junior with 14 runs batted in and scored 63 runs in the two seasons. Eliason claimed first-team all-conference honors as a senior and second-team honors as a junior.
"I chose Dordt to be able to play baseball while getting a good education and grown in my faith," said Eliason.
Nathaniel is the son of Sam and Gwyn Eliason of Fort Collins, Colorado. He plans to study engineering.
Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and the Mid-American Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA).?
U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
