Box Score The Defenders women's soccer team defeated the College of Saint Mary Flames by a score of 5-1 Saturday afternoon.
The Defenders opened up the scoring early with a goal from Karinna Tel in the 2nd minute. Tel received a long pass from Ellie Stuart where she had to beat defender, Hayley Holden, and goalkeeper, Alivia Schade, and found a wide open net to go up 1-0.
 Ellie Stuart knocked in her first goal of the game in the 15th minute off a pass from Keely Kolbrek that she finished with her right foot to the back post.
The Defenders didn't waste any time after the break by scoring in the 49th minute. Joslyn Terpstra netted her first of the game off a pass by Ellie Stuart that left Terpstra with a one-on-one with goalkeeper where she finished with her right foot to extend the lead.Â
Ellie Stuart scored her second of the game just a minute later off a pass from Karinna Tel. Tel pass across the field to the corner of the 18-yard box where Stuart took a one-time shot with her left that clearned the goalkeeper and found the side netting on the back post.
Joslyn Terpstra put her second one in off a pass from Hayden Jennett in the 69th minute.Â
The Flames were able to score one goal in the 88th minute.
