Doane lost to Graceland in Lamoni, Iowa on August 26 by a 42-17 score.Ā  Graceland was up 21-3 after one quarter and it was 28-10 after the teams traded touchdowns in the second quarter. Graceland was up 42-10 before a late Doane score made the final 42-17.Ā Ā

Dordt finished the 2023 season on a four game winning streak and secured a 17-8 win on November 12 on the road at Midland. The win wasn't secured until the closing minute when Anthony Trojahn scored on a 13 yard run for the 17-8 final.Ā Ā 

THE SERIESĀ 

Doane leads the series 10-4Ā 

Doane's 13-10 win in overtime on September 24, 2022 stopped a three game Defender winning streak in the series. Dordt had a 10-7 lead late in the game before Kelen Meyer tied the game with a 33 yard field goal as time expired. Meyer then kicked a 38 yard field goal in overtime to win it.Ā Ā
