Doane's 13-10 win in overtime on September 24, 2022 stopped a three game Defender winning streak in the series. Dordt had a 10-7 lead late in the game before Kelen Meyer tied the game with a 33 yard field goal as time expired. Meyer then kicked a 38 yard field goal in overtime to win it.
