Women's Soccer Wins For 2nd Time In As Many Nights

Box Score FINAL
Dordt defeats Nebraska Wesleyan 3-1

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Dordt Defender women's soccer team stepped outside the GPAC on Thursday night, September 28 and won a 3-1 decision over former conference rival Nebraska Wesleyan.

Dordt started the scoring in the 23rd minute when Abby Foster knocked in a shot after Joslyn Terpstra's corner kick for a 1-0 lead.

Foster figured into the second goal after getting a steal on Nebraska Wesleyan's half and she beat the keeper for her second goal of the season less than a minute before the half ended.

Wesleyan broke up the shutout with a goal in the 73rd minute but Dordt answered with a break away by Karinna Tel to seal the win in the final minute of play.
  • Lydia Zylstra got the win in goal with six saves.
  • Dordt had a 15-8 shots advantage and put eight shots on frame to Wesleyan's seven.
  • Foster's two goals were her 2nd and 3rd of the season.
  • Terpstra's assist was her 3rd and Tel's goal was her team leading 8th of the year.
  • Dordt is now 5-4-1 overall and will resume play on Wednesday, October 4 at home against Mount Marty.
