Dordt defeats Nebraska Wesleyan 3-1
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Dordt Defender women's soccer team stepped outside the GPAC on Thursday night, September 28 and won a 3-1 decision over former conference rival Nebraska Wesleyan.
Dordt started the scoring in the 23
rd minute when
Abby Foster knocked in a shot after
Joslyn Terpstra's corner kick for a 1-0 lead.
Foster figured into the second goal after getting a steal on Nebraska Wesleyan's half and she beat the keeper for her second goal of the season less than a minute before the half ended.
Wesleyan broke up the shutout with a goal in the 73
rd minute but Dordt answered with a break away by
Karinna Tel to seal the win in the final minute of play.
- Lydia Zylstra got the win in goal with six saves.
- Dordt had a 15-8 shots advantage and put eight shots on frame to Wesleyan's seven.
- Foster's two goals were her 2nd and 3rd of the season.
- Terpstra's assist was her 3rd and Tel's goal was her team leading 8th of the year.
- Dordt is now 5-4-1 overall and will resume play on Wednesday, October 4 at home against Mount Marty.
