Dordt started fast and pulled away from Doane on Saturday for a  49-7 win after leading 14-7 after one quarter. Three touchdowns in the second quarter put the Defenders up 35-7 at halftime and effectively put the game out of reach with a drive that took 9:04 off the clock to start the half. A

Dordt was down 9-0 late in the first quarter when Dordt went on a 21-0 run and led 28-16 at halftime. Dordt was up 35-16 after a score in the third quarter by
Anthony Trojahn but Mount Marty struck for two touchdowns to narrow the difference to 35-29 with 9:34 left in the game. Dordt's ensuing drive went 64 yards and extended the lead to 41-29 and a field goal late in the game made the final 44-29.
