Van Riessen to play soccer for Dordt University

Josi Van Riessen (Ozark, Missouri) has signed a letter of intent to attend Dordt University and join the Defender soccer program.  

Van Riessen is a 5'7" midfielder who played for both Ozark High School and the SWMO Rush Club team. Van Riessen helped her team to an 18-6 overall record and a class 4A District 10 title. She earned second team all-district honors while playing for New Covenant Academy as a freshman. 

"I chose to attend Dordt because of the great culture, both on campus and also within the team. I am excited to be challenged academically, athletically and spiritually."

Van Riessen plans to major in Biology / Pre-Medicine at Dordt and is the daughter to Erek and Keri. 

Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and the Mid-American Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA).    

U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
