Katherine Schaupp (St.Michael, Minnesota) has signed a letter of intent to attend Dordt University and join the Defender women's soccer program.
Schaupp is a 5'6" midfielder who plays for both St.Cloud Cathedral High School and the Twin Cities Rush club team. Schaupp started all 17 matches where she totaled 30 points with 10 goals and 10 assists in leading her team to the conference title and a 14-3-1 overall record. Named a team captain, Schaupp earned first team all-state honors as well as all-conference accolades.
"I chose to attend Dordt because it was a college where I could continue to play soccer and study Actuarial Science," said Schaupp. "The soccer team and coaching staff was very welcoming and made me feel at home."
Schaupp plans to major in Actuarial Science at Dordt and is the daughter of David and Shannon.
Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is a comprehensive Christian college rooted in the Reformed tradition. The Defender athletic program is a part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and the Mid-American Collegiate Hockey Association (MACHA).
U.S. News & World Report, Money Magazine, Forbes.com, Washington Monthly, and Princeton Review all list Dordt on their best colleges lists. Dordt is home to approximately 1,500 students.
